The bolt on safety of the Alpha sport straight gate paired up with the easy clipping, weight saving Alpha Trad rope end makes for a neat pairing when tackling longer sport routes or multipitch; weight is an issue but so is durability and handling.

The deep basket of the Alpha trad keeps the rope where it should be while the kink in the back bar gives a positive grip for the thumb.
