Boreal Jokers are perhaps the definitive Classic
rock shoe. They are certainly the most popular.
The slightly asymmetric shape, non-aggressive heel and padded tongue combine to give a super comfy fit, which makes them perfect for all day use.
There is also some cushioning in the heel - this takes some of the sting out of those long descent routes, and will also provide some protection for hard landings on a bouldering circuit.
In terms of stiffness and support the Joker is medium-to-soft and giving it good sensitivity on smeary holds. The FS Quattro rubber provides a good combination of stickiness and durability.
Rubber: FS Quattro 4 – 4.6mm depending on shoe size
The Joker has a fairly broad/high volume fit with a medium volume toe box. The lined, leather uppers will help to reduce stretch, but you should expect some expansion as the shoe gets older.
We would advise staying the same UK size as your normal shoe size, or perhaps dropping half a size if you want a more technical fit.
