The Five Ten Anasazi V2 lace up
The Five Ten Anasazi V2 lace up is the modern version of the extremely popular (but now withdrawn) Anasazi ‘Pinks’. What we have now is a decidedly Technical edging shoe with a fairly aggressive heel cup (i.e. more so than the Verde).
Perfect for edgey limestone sport climbs, they also work very well on quarried grit/slate or volcanic mountain rock.
The heel cup still has some dead space, but this matters little as most people won’t be buying this for steep bouldering. Of course it will perform extremely well on vertical or slabby boulder problems.
Interestingly Five Ten have opted for the original Stealth C4 rubber, rather than the Stealth® Onyxx. C4 rubber is said to work better in warmer conditions, although we reckon you’ll struggle to tell the difference in most situations – basically, both types of rubber are excellent.
Rubber: Stealth® Onyxx
Fit advice:
The Anasazi V2 has quite a narrow fit with a fairly low volume toe box. The lined, synthetic uppers will help to reduce stretch.
We would advise dropping half a UK size from your normal shoe size, or perhaps one full size if you want a more technical fit.
