This was originally pitched as a souped up version of the old style Anasazi lace up (aka: ‘Pinks’). It is quite a different beast though, and one which sits at the top end of the Technical shoe spectrum.

The new last has a down-turned toe making this a great shoe for overhanging sport routes or bouldering.

It also has a much neater, low volume heel cup that enhances fit and gives much better performance on heel hooks.

It is softer than the old Pinks; this shift away from stiffness gives the shoe an excellent combination of sensitivity and precision.

Fit advice:

The Quantum has quite a narrow fit with a medium/low volume toe box. In fact this is much closer to the typical La Sportiva fit than other Five Ten Technical shoes.

The lined, synthetic uppers help reduce stretch.

We would advise dropping a full UK size for a good technical fit.
