5.10 Anasazi Verde Rock Shoes
This was the original reincarnation of the extremely popular (but now withdrawn) Anasazi ‘Pinks’. As it turned out the character of the shoe had changed a bit, although many feel these changes were for the better.
If you still want the stiffness of the Pinks, then you’d probably be better off going for the Anasazi V2s
(which are a truer reincarnation of the Pinks).
The Verdes by contrast are softer and more sensitive, making them better on smeary routes. That said, they still have a decent edge on them - Check out the pic of Pete Robins wearing them on The Quarryman
E8 7a, on the cover of the new Llanberis Slate
guide guide if you’ve any doubts about that!
Although this is still a decidedly Technical
shoe, the heel is slightly less severe than the Anasazi V2.
Rubber: Stealth® Onyxx
The Anasazi Verde has quite a narrow fit, but with a medium/high volume toe box (the fit is different to the Anasazi V2). The lined, synthetic uppers help reduce stretch, but there will be some movement, so don’t get them too comfortable – they are a technical shoe after all.
We would advise dropping one and a half UK sizes from your normal shoe size, or even two full sizes for a really precise fit.
