As the only official re-seller of DMM cosmetic seconds we often get asked; What are DMM Cosmetic seconds and are they safe?
The quick answer would be:
They are a no brainer, a steal, a way of getting great gear at an even better price than normal and yes they are perfectly safe. The longer answer is as follows:
All DMM cosmetic seconds go through exactly the same tests as the regular 1st quality items including any strength tests, it is only at the final hurdle when all other tests have been carried out and only the visual inspection remains that they get rejected and bypassed into the seconds bin.
Simply put a DMM cosmetic second has a mark, blemish, scratch or slight deformity where the mould was not set properly. However due to the high level of DMM's quality control inspections, what seems to be a perfectly good product will be sent to the seconds bin and then on to us, most of the time we honestly struggle to find anything wrong with them.
In effect you get a brand new piece of kit, that once you have taken it out for the 1st time will look exactly like a 1st quality piece that has been used once, only you paid around 20% less for it!
Due to the amounts of cosmetic seconds that we shift and not ever knowing what we will get, it pays to keep a regular check on the cosmetic seconds section.
